After the show-stopping first season of the franchise’s All-Stars first season, Big Brother Naija Season 9 is set to premiere this July. Recall that the last shoe featured the return of both previous winners and housemates such as Tolanibaj, Mercy Eke, Cee C, Neo, Kiddways, Seyi, Frodd etc.
Perhaps the highlight was when Ilebaye from season 8 went from an underdog slated to leave early to emerging as the winner of the All-Star season. She made no impact also during her season and left the show quite early without almost anything.
Now, with the Big Brother Season 9 set to premiere, viewers should get ready for an exciting time particularly as they won’t get an All-Star reunion. Mercy Eke, winner of the season 4 Pepper Dem and first runner-up to the star season took to her Instagram live to debunk news of the reunion.

“Stop dreaming, there will be no ‘All Stars reunion,” she said then dashing the hope of viewers. While the viewers won’t be getting a reunion, they can be sure to expect drama and a twist the brand is now adding to make the season an interesting one.
Big Brother Season 9 will feature couples as against the usual individuals vying for the grand prize. Perhaps this is their attempt to introduce more romance to the game as the show has given birth to several couples who are not only still together but are married with children.

The auditions which kicked off on March 27, 2024, also hinted the twist noting that the franchise is looking for two partners, “This year, it’s a search for Dynamic Duos that love the show and can turn up the heat in Biggie’s house!” It is not limited to romantic partners only but friends and even family are allowed.
On Sunday, Dstv’s official Instagram page also announced that the show will kick off on a Sunday in July but did not specify which Sunday. TheBig Brother Season 9 teaser was captioned with the tagline “What’s better than One? Mark your calendars! #BBNaijaS9 🇳🇬.”
