Following her absence at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Taylor Swift accepted the award of Artist of the Year from afar in a pre-recorded message. She used the opportunity to tease her projects including The Tortured Poets Department, out April 19.
In the pre-recorded message, the singer thanked her fans and teased that “we have so many exciting things ahead of us,” including her upcoming album. “I’m so proud of it,” she said. “I cannot wait to share it with you.”

The Event marked Taylor Swift first major public appearance since she went on a break following her Australia and Singapore Eras tour shows. The Era’s Tour will resume her tour on May 9 in Paris, where she’ll kick off her European leg. In her appearance last night, she kept her outfit simple, wearing a form-fitting blue top with gold jewellery.
Read her full speech below: She started with ‘Hey, I wanted to say thank you so much to anyone who voted for this award. iHeart, you’ve also just been so incredibly supportive throughout my entire career but especially this year has been pretty spectacular. I am so grateful for that.”
“You know, to the fans, it’s completely up to you to choose how you spend your time, what concerts you want to go to, what music you want to make the soundtrack to your life, and to anyone who has included me in those choices. I’m so, so, so thankful for that. And you know, we have so many exciting things ahead of us, Taylor Swift added.
“I’m continuing along with the tour, and most importantly, I have a brand new album called The Tortured Poets Department, which comes out on April 19, and I’m so proud of it. I cannot wait to share it with you so thank you for voting for me for this incredible honor: Artist of the Year. I am so blown away and so thankful, and I just can’t wait to keep having fun with you guys because we have a lot of exciting things coming up.”
