In 2012, Don Jazzy and his business partner D’banj severed ties and sealed the future of their brainchild, Mohits Records. The reason was that both of them wanted different things at the time. Then, the now owner of Mavins Record, Michael Collins took to X formerly Twitter to confirm the split.
‘It is with a heavy heart that I announce the end of a long era, and the beginning of a new one.’ Mo Hits Records is the brainchild of the musical duo founded in 2004 with the latter becoming an international phenomenon thanks to the record label.
20 years later, D’Banj is praising Don Jazzy for his great impact on his career. After the 2012 Split, Don Jazzy went on to build his now-prominent record label, Mavins with artists like Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Korede Hello, Doja, Rekaddo Banks etc. The label is still making waves today.

His former business partner also started his successful DB Record Label. Now, the Fall in Love singer took to Instagram to pay a visit to the Mavins executive to formally invite him to his 20 years in the music industry anniversary dinner. In the caption, he reminisced how much the Don had impacted his career.
D’Banj also writes about their achievements. In his words, “My 20 year journey cannot be complete without It’s @DONJAZZY again! Giving him the invite to my anniversary dinner was a moment filled with nostalgia. As we both celebrate 20 years in the industry, I’m reminded of the countless memories and milestones we’ve shared together.”
