Barely two months after Shakira sparked romance rumours with Emily in Paris star, Lucien Laviscount, it has. It has been confirmed that the duo are dating. The celebrity couple met on the set of the star’s music video for Punteria which she released in collaboration with Cardi B.
In the video, the two lay together with the actor shirtless. He was seen caressing Shakira’s cheek and smiling at her in a pink-coloured background. Following the chemistry-laden video, several outlets theorized that they were dating. Days later her friends alleged that they were casually dating.
However, they expressed worry that Lucien Laviscount would break Shakira’s heart especially as the singer has had her heart broken. The singer is getting her career back on track after a hiatus in Spain amid Gerald pique romance and taking care of her two sons.
Despite reservations about the new romance, the couple has been spotted several times on dates. Now the Emily in Paris star is gushing over his girlfriend in an interview with US Weekly while promoting his partnership with Smirnoff ICE SURPR-ICE. It is quite apparent that the actor is smitten by the mother of two.
Talking to Us Weekly, Lucien Laviscout noted that “Shakira is one of the most incredible artists to ever grace the planet. Her dedication to her craft, to her fans and her love for life is truly inspiring,.” “She’s one of the most beautiful, hard-working people I’ve ever met.”
Talking about their chemistry-filled and sizzling music video, the actor noted that he was for the vixen role while on the set of Emily in Paris Season Four. In the romantic comedy series, he played Alfie who was caught in a love triangle with Gabriel over Emily played by Lilly Collins. We are currently looking forward to the plot unfolding.
Season 4 of the Netflix series is set to stream on August 15. Talking to Us Weekly on the Puntaria casting Lucien Laviscount noted that “ he could remember getting the call saying that there was some interest in me being a part of the video.” “I was shooting Emily in Paris at the time but we managed to figure out the dates and I was on the next flight out to Miami.”
He further commented that landing in Miami was a dream come true. “Miami is all about the people, the culture, the vibe. I was rapping along to ‘Welcome To Miami’ when I was a kid, dreaming of this place. It never disappoints,” he said.
Although that was his first time of being in Miami, he came back for the Smirnoff ICE SURPR-ICE event where he shared other insights about his lifestyle and career. In regards to the latter, he talked mostly about bringing Alfie to life in the Paris setting movie.
As for Shakira, the relationship whether serious or not is a welcome development to moving on from footballer Pique whom she dated over two years and shares two kids with. Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran which is her 12th studio album made up of 16 tracks was a reference to her grief over the breakup.
