Popular Nigerian singer Wizkid appears to remain unaffected by the Grammy buzz despite not being nominated for the coveted awards this year. This is not because of jealousy after all his collaboration with Beyonce on “Brown Skin Girl” landed him the award in 2020.
One would think that the veteran singer would be hyper-fixated on the show. However, the reverse is the case as it seems the singer was not even present at the show. There’s a reason he is unconcerned about the Grammy honours and other major honours.

The 66th Grammy Awards was held on Sunday in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA. The event saw Nigerian musicians Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Tems fared poorly, receiving no awards. As done by fans who found reasons to fuel fan fights between him and Davido’s fanbase, the singer was dragged into the fracas.

However, X formerly a Twitter users discovered a Wizkid flashback tweet in which the singer explained why he did not want to talk about award nominations. Wizkid vehemently stated that he doesn’t care because the majority of awards/shows are established by a group of individuals.
He wrote; “I don’t post about nominations or talk about awards cos I don’t really care to be honest. Just a bunch of peeps putting together a show!” Fans allege that the singer is not affected by the lack of his nomination for the coveted prize.
