Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds were noticeably absent from the just concluded, fashion Oscars despite being spotted In New York City. Their absence left fans disappointed after speculating what she would have worn for the gala.
For the past month, the celebrity couple has been in New York where the event was held. And was seen in several spots over the city. Most notably, the actress was sighted at Tiffany & Co.’s NYC flagship store opening last week somewhat assuring fans, that she will make a grand entrance.
On May 6th both Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively snubbed the fashion Oscars despite receiving invitations. This is the second time, the couple has been absent and it’s not because they are sick like Rihanna or otherwise like Jared Leto. Rihanna failed to make an appearance despite debuting a new pink hair for the show.
The mother of two came down with flu after attending the F1 Grand Prix with her partner, A$Ap Rocky. Another celebrity with the cogent reason of not attending is Jared Leto who is currently on a world tour. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce also snubbed the event after Us Weekly reported that the couple would make a red carpet.
Unlike Rihanna and Jared Leto, Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds had no special reason to skip the event. They only chose to spend quality time together in their home and with their kids. Other celebrities who did not make an appearance at the event include Lady Gaga, Hailey Bieber, and Bella Hadid.
The actress last attended the gala in 2022 where she served as a co-host. Her gown was reminiscent of the year’s “Gilded Glamour” theme which looked delectable as she posed on the red carpet. There were several transformations of her custom where Atelier Versace gown which she accessorized with a tiara and her signature Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.
Reacting to the couple’s alleged met gala snub, a fan took to X formerly Twitter to share his disappointment. “BlakeLively not being at the Met Gala basically just fizzles the event. Honestly, they shouldn’t have it unless @blakelively is in attendance. It’s her show, everyone else is just a guest,” the tweet read.
Yet another fan also tweeted, “pretending to not care Blake Lively isn’t there to save the night #MetGala.” The third added, “The met gala can’t be over yet ’cause where’s Blake lively.” The latest development comes amid the star’s filming for A Simple Favour 2.
