Late last week, Yvonne Jegede shared details of her failed marriage to fellow actor Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole. Interestingly, the marriage ended barely one year of marriage after they tied the knot in 2018 even after dating for years. Now, the actress has revealed why.
In her appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, the actress shared details about her failed marriage. She stated that the marriage packed up because she was footing all the bills in their marriage and could no longer cope. Now she has advice for single ladies.
Yvonne Okoro is advising ladies to marry for money instead of love in the teaser of the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast. She noted that any man who will give her any amount of money she wants is the ideal candidate for her next marriage.
In her words,” Person wey get good mind na im I dey find. Because if you get good mind, you get empathy if I say ‘Baby please, give me N1 million’, you fit give me N20 million,” she said. “But if you no get empathy, you go ask me first of all, say, ‘It is your father’s money?’”
The latest report comes after Yvonne Jegede called out her ex-husband, Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole in 2022 for refusing to see their son. She told Mercy Johnson in an episode of Mercy’s Menu that they are not on talking terms. “He doesn’t come around. He doesn’t call, doesn’t do anything.”

Then continued, “Apart from the marriage, we had a good, excellent friendship. I still look back at that friendship and believe it should count for something.” Talking about his relationship with them, the actress noted that it took a ultimatum for him to accept their son.
“The first time he publicly accepted that my son was his child was because people were already accusing me of having a child for another person while married. I had to give him an ultimatum that if he doesn’t show up when the child turns five, I will take his name off the child’s name.”
