Despite the pain Tristan Thompson has put Khloe Kardashian through, it appears the mother of two still has a soft spot for him as the father of her children. On Wednesday, she took to her Instagram stories to wish her ex-boyfriend a happy birthday.Â
She shares two heartwarming family photos of the star. One image was of him spending time with their children True and Tatum, and another with his younger brother. The first photo showed him opening gifts on the dining room floor, she wrote, ‘Happy Birthday’ as she tagged him.Â
‘Your mommy is proud of you. Happy birthday,’ Khloe Kardashian added on a second photo of him and his 17-year-old brother Amari who has epilepsy. The caption is a reference to her cheating ex’s mother, Andrea, who passed in her Toronto home of a heart attack in January of last year.Â
The death of Andrea meant that Tristan Thompson was officially the legal guardian of Amari. According to court documents obtained by TODAY.com, a judge in Los Angeles County Superior Court granted his request for guardianship of Amari on Feb. 26, 2024.
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan were first sparked relationship rumours in the summer of 2016 when they were spotted at LA’s Bootsy Bellows nightclub. In a 2017 interview, she shared that they met via a blind date set up by their mutual friend, Brandon Jennings, and was reluctant at the time.Â
The duo went Instagram official in October 2017 in a romantic Halloween post where the two posed as Marvel’s Storm and the Black Panther. In April of 2018, the 33-year-old Canada native fathered his almost six-year-old daughter, True, with the reality star until their world came crashing down.
It appeared that Tristan Thompson had cheated on Khloe Kardashian by kissing a lady in an exclusive video at a Manhattan club days before giving birth. Then, a source revealed that ‘Khloe carried his child and is much more in the limelight than he is, and she doesn’t think he understands the consequences of his decisions.’
‘She thinks the cheating scandal is a way bigger deal than he does, and he doesn’t fully understand the repercussions of his actions affecting not only him and her but the entire family as a whole.’ In February 2019, TMZ reported that he cheated again kissing Jordyn Woods, a close family friend. Woods, then best friend of Kylie Jenner, confirmed it in a Red Table Talk.Â

Khloe subsequently tweeted, ‘Tristan is equally to blame but Tristan is the father of my child… ‘Regardless of what he does to me, I won’t do that to my daughter. He has been addressing this situation PRIVATELY.’ He also cheated again which resulted in a child and the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
The two have not been together since 2021 but co-parent their children in a public and civilized manner. This is not the star’s first relationship that ended due to infidelity. Her marriage to Lamar Odom, ended on a similar note after he nearly died of an overdose in a brothel.
