Taylor Swift is making sure her Eras tour concerts are worth the experience for fans. In the latest concert in Melbourne Australia, the powerhouse had a major announcement for improving creativity for her fans who came to see her perform on Sunday.
The star joyfully announced at her latest concert that she’ll no longer ban herself from performing any of her acoustic “surprise songs” more than once on her Eras Tour. She started with, “That was to challenge me to really get to all the ones that I just don’t naturally gravitate towards, and I feel really proud about having done that.”
“But this is sort of a public service announcement to everyone who might be anywhere else on the tour, or whatever, or watching this — we have a lot of people, we’re very lucky to have a lot of people watch this on the internet and care about these shows if they’re not here,” Taylor Swift continued.
“I’ve just been kind of rethinking, and I’ve been thinking I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward and I don’t want to limit anything or say, ‘If I played this song, I can’t play it again,’” she said.“So, from now on, I don’t want to take any paint colours out of the paintbox or tools out of the toolbox.”
“I want to be able to play songs more than once if I feel like it and I want to be able to make changes to songs. Does that sound OK?” Taylor Swift finished. Following the announcement to improve her creativity, the concert attendees inside Melbourne Cricket Ground erupted in applause.
After which the singer performed her hit songs “Come Back… Be Here” from her “Red” album and “Daylight” from her “Lover” album. She also performed another surprise song “Teardrops on My Guitar,” which she played on piano. The concert was the last of her 3 Melbourne shows.
She took to Instagram to gush about the experience. “Melbourne, what do I even say to you after over 288,000 of you came and danced with us in the last 3 nights ??! That was unforgettable. You were on another LEVEL. Thank you for the memories. I’ll revisit the ones from this weekend often 🥲🫶,” she wrote on Sunday.
The statement comes alongside a series of images and videos from her recent Australian concerts. Taylor Swift next set of Era’s Tour concerts will be in Sydney Accor Stadium starting on February 23.
