Davido Sues Baby Mama, Sophia Momodu For Daughter Imade's Custody
Finally, it appears that the feud between Davido and his first Baby Mama, Sophia Momodu has now culminated into a custody battle as the singer has now filed a lawsuit to get custody of his daughter and first child imade Adeleke.
TBN previously reported that the former couple has been estranged after the singer married his now-wife Chioma Adeleke much to the consternation of the baby mama or so it seems. Consequently, she has denied the singer access to his daughter for a long time now.
At first, there were efforts to mend the rift between Davido and Sophia which proved abortive. Perhaps this was what triggered the joint custody lawsuit filed by his legal representatives such as Dr Olaniyi Arije, Okey Barrah and others, at the Lagos State High Court.
Documents obtained by TBN showed that the said lawsuit was filed on April 17, 2024, stating that he wants the court to grant him joint custody of Imade Adeleke to the applicant. Simply put, he will be able to see his daughter whenever he wants as against depending on Baby Mama’s goodwill. The case file marked LD/1587PMC/2024, has the singer as an applicant and the baby mama as the respondent.

His reason for the suit is that he continuously did his part as a parent after their relationship ended. According to him, he bought a house worth over 200m for them to live which Sophia rejected noting that she continued to ask him for 5 million Naira for house rent. Davido also noted that he has been paying school fees and bought cars for his daughter.
“I also made commitments to pay for living expenses, the fees of the nanny to our child, provide medical and health care, insurance, periodic international travel expenses and tickets.” “That notwithstanding my efforts in the overall interest of my daughter, the respondent has continued to make outlandish and Utopian demands to frustrate me,” part of the document read.
TBN thinks Davido made the right mood because the child is his daughter and regardless of whatever happens between them as parents, it should not affect both relationship with Imade. What do you guys think? Tell us
