This is a nomination several artists had to wait after a decade in music to get a nomination. But not the star who has continued to wow fans in skimpy clothes, enchanting look and sonorous voice. In a new interview with Beats FM, she shared what her career journey was like and how she felt meeting Rihanna.

Why was meeting Rihanna a big deal for Ayra Starr? Recall that in an interview with Way Up, the star girl noted that the Fenty founder has been her idol and that she has even searched for how to sing like her on YouTube including Beyoncé. That experience prepared her for the global success she has become today.
Prior to the Beat interview, the Rush singer and the Diamonds crooner had crossed paths in early May at an Authentic Woman Event in London with the latter gushing over the former and telling her that she likes her music. Rihanna even told her to get in touch with her anytime she wants a feature.
That from a renowned artist means a lot to Ayra Starr who is set to break more records. TBN can’t wait to hear the song when it finally drops. Now in the Beat interview, she told the host, “The funny thing is before I met Rihanna I was literally just having a conversation with a friend four days before. I was like, ‘Do you think Rihanna knows me? Do you think she listens to me?’
Then continued, “I low-key feel like I make the kind of music Rihanna will like. I just feel like she would like my music. So when I finally met her she was like ‘I’m so happy to see you.’ I was like ‘Me? okay.’ I got to hang out with her and talk and vibe and it was amazing.” The host also asked to throw insights on how she feels about attaining success at a mere 21.
Ayra Starr replied, “Yes definitely I did. I envisioned it and I feel like I brought it to life because it was my dream and I always imagined myself like this.” The 21-year-old is popular for her hit songs, Rush, Commas, Rythm and Blues etc. She even featured Tiwa savage on a song for her movie, Water and Garri.
