Doja Cat is not letting the public get away with nasty comparisons of her pubic hair. The star took to Instagram Live to slam the negative comments people made about her natural hair after she used a close-up image of her locks for her forthcoming album cover.
“I’m seeing a pattern. I’m seeing a consistent pattern in my comments section of people saying is my hair pubic hair, is it carpet or is it sheep’s wool,” she said on Instagram Live, per a recording obtained by Hollywood Unlocked. “And it’s not even questions … some people are being like, that’s what it is.”
Doja Cat added that people are comparing her 4C hair, which consists of a tight curl pattern, “to sheep and pubes and carpet and popcorn and s–t like that.” We gotta move forward. Let’s move forward. Let’s grow,” she urged her fans. “I can’t tell you what to do. I’m not your f–king parents. I don’t wanna say too much.”
The negative remarks followed after she shared the cover image for her forthcoming album on Instagram Friday.“🦴\🦴\ ASC 4.5.24,” she captioned the post. The cover art is a close image of her tight blond curls. The nasty remarks made her turn off the comments on that post.
Doja Cat deactivated her Instagram early this month due to how she was being “treated” on the app. “hey I’m gonna deactivate because I’m not feeling this anymore,” she wrote in a now-deleted post at the time.“you guys take care of yourselves. I like coming here to find inspiration and see people being creative but I just feel like this is getting to be too much.
The “Say So” singer said she has “f–ked up thoughts” due to “the way im spoken to on here and treated.” “Please watch how you talk to and about people on the internet. Bye,” she concluded. She proceeded to delete her Instagram page, which had more than 24 million followers at that time.
